Touching reunion between owner and pet missing amid the harsh winter weather captured on camera

The holidays were less bright for Roger Jacobs after he lost his dog, Malh, just days before Christmas.

Seven-year-old English Steer managed to escape through an unlocked gate at Jacobs’ home in Shepherd, Montana.

Jacobs, 68, has had a salty since she was a puppy and even trained her to join in on hunting trips, so it was unusual for her to run away.

A father-of-three and his family search for Salty day and night, whistling for her and trying to track her footprints in the snow. They also posted online to see if anyone in the community had seen it.

But after a week of no signs of salt, they started to lose hope.

Jacobs feared the dog had gone to the highway – until family friend Bill Lipley called with some positive news.

Lebley said he saw a dog that looked just like Salty across the Yellowstone River. Jacobs’ daughter Becky Anderson said she tried not to get her hopes up, especially knowing that the dog had been gone for a week in sub-zero temperatures. However, she did drive with her two kids to confirm if it was really salty.

When they stopped, they knew right away it was!

Lebley then drove Salty to Jacobs’ location and let her out in a snowfield to meet her owner. Their tearful reunion on the riverbank was captured on video by Anderson.

It is a miracle that Salti survived the harsh winter conditions on her own. Jacobs believes his dog found a haystack or haystack to save at night.

After spending a week in the snow, Malha got a cut to her front leg and some ice got stuck between her pillows. The dog also lost about 10 pounds during the ordeal, but is generally healthy.

Today, Salti has settled back into her normal life and is happy to be back home with her family.

Speaking of reunion, this encounter between a dog and its owner will surely cheer you up.

When Pat lost his dog, Blue, around the second quarter of 2020, he had hope of finding him. He lost the puppy when Pat was still living in Tennessee, but he moved to Texas for work. With that, Pat thought he would never see his best friend again.

He had no idea that Blue was rescued by the Washington County Animal Shelter in Tennessee.

In April 2020, an unknown person called to alert them about a stray bull that had appeared in his house. Then the animal control officer went there to pick up the missing pup and take it to the facility.

Shelter staff described Blue as a “lucky dog.” He loved everyone he met at the shelter.

Because of the pandemic, the shelter was forced to close its doors and limit the number of visitors. They had no choice but to wait for someone to pick up Blue or adopt him.

To increase his adoption chances, they shared a video of Blue playing with his favorite ball on Facebook. After a while, someone commented that it was his dog.

This guy was Pat, who had been searching for Blue for about half a year. Fortunately, a friend saw his video on Facebook and sent it to him.

Once the shelter confirmed Pat was its owner, the latter drove 1,200 miles to pick him up from the facility. Blue seemed to be shocked at first when he saw his owner again after 200 days of separation, but ended up giving Pat a lot of kisses and trying to play with him. Their happy reunion was captured by the shelter staff.

“This is my son,” Pat said upon seeing his dog. “I missed you so much.”

We are so glad these dogs found their way home!
